  6. Torrance, CA, June 13, 1994 - Gemstone Systems proudly announces
  7. the release of it's image archive management application, Image
  8. Curator 1.0.  The Image Curator application is specifically designed
  9. for handling a wide range of image archive management needs, from
  10. the small personal collection of icons to the corporate database
  11. of artwork.

  13. The core functionality of Image Curator is it's ability to quickly
  14. create high quality thumbnail representations of images.  The use
  15. of a specialized, highly configurable, thumbnailing algorithm lets
  16. users create thumbnails that are superior to those available in
  17. any other application.

  19. Thumbnail images are displayed in documents called Galleries that
  20. can contain a virtually unlimited number of images.  Thumbnails
  21. can be displayed in a fraction of the time required by other
  22. applications.  Users can browse through thumbnails for images that
  23. are no longer present on the file system (as in the case of PhotoCDs
  24. and other removable media).
